Installation

  1. Open your parcel. Make sure you have everything you need. If not installing straightaway, please do not leave it rolled up in packaging. Please remove product from its packaging. Lay flat and pop contours back in place.

  2. Lay out your new carpet and pop moulded contours back into place if applicable.

  3. Remove door sill plates, kick panels, front seats and rear seat base.

  4. Remove centre console (where applicable), seat belt bolts and any other trims retaining old carpet.

  5. Remove old carpet, keep it do not discard it yet. Remove old underfelt taking note of where it was. Vacuum or sweep the floor clean. Place the old carpet over your new moulded carpet. Using the old carpet as a template mark any holes or additional cut outs on the new carpet with chalk. Do not cut yet.

  6. If removing underfelt only, lay it in the same area as you removed it from.

  7. Starting with the rear carpet, place your new carpet in the vehicle by centering it on the tunnel and working towards the sides.

  8. Now repeat this with the front carpet matching the contours of the carpet with the floor.

  9. You may need to cut some of the holes you marked out earlier (gearstick, console brackets etc).

  10. After confirming the proper fit, cut the required holes as you fit the carpet to the vehicle.

  11. Depending on your particular model of vehicle it may be necessary to trim excess carpet from the sides, as most carpets are left slightly wider in case carpet has been fitted slightly off centre.

  12. Replace rear seat base, seat belt bolts, centre console, front seat bolts, kick panels, door sill plates and any other trims you removed earlier.

 Underfelt Fitting Instructions

As a general rule underfelt should be fitted as it was from the factory as our carpets have been moulded to allow for underfelt.

Over thirty years of manufacturing replacement carpets we have seen many instances of carpets not fitting due to no underfelt, too much underfelt, or underfelt not cut in the right places to fit the contours of the floor pan.

Underfelt is a critical part of how your new carpet will fit, the photo to the right shows a xy falcon shape and as you can see this is how the original felt was shaped and cut to fit correctly. The yellow stars show on this model where underfelt should not be fitted.
